A complete DISK MENU system. Provides fast and easy access to your DOS
programs. Displays a simple list of your applications and allows you to
select one using the arrow keys or a mouse.. No knowledge of DOS
required.
Some of the features...
o This program does not stay memory resident like some other menu
systems. Some systems can take away a large amount of your
computers memory which can result in larger programs not running
efficiently, or in some cases lost data!
o Easy to operate, not complicated to view or use. Users just select
a program choice, using arrow keys and press enter, or using a
mouse.
o Does not require any knowledge of DOS. oMENU creates it's own
commands for the files you point it to ONCE. You don't have to
give any DOS commands.
o Optional Password Access to Applications, Pages, System setup
areas, and DOS access.
o Allows an unlimited number menu items (19 per page with 19 pages
per sub directory).
o User defined colors.
o Easy to maintain.
o Built in calculator (can be used separately too).
Hardware Requirements : Any IBM compatible system running DOS.
For those of you who would like to Freq the latest version, the file
request name is OMENU at FidoNet 1:249/114.

NEW INSTALLATION
----------------
To install your oMENU system ...
1. Make a sub-directory on your hard drive or floppy disk called MENU.
(You can use any sub-directory name.)
2. Then copy the oMENU files to that sub-directory.
3. Then type oMENU and press ENTER. This creates 1.BAT.
4. Then COPY 1.BAT to any sub-directory included in your path assignment.
This makes oMENU accessible from any location by pressing 1 <enter>.
You may also want to include automatic execution of your oMENU system in
your AUTOEXEC.BAT file by making it's last command line a 1.
To operate oMENU from DOS, type 1 and then press ENTER. Once setup,
move your cursor bar up and down with your arrow keys, and choose a
function by pressing ENTER.

GENERAL OPERATIONAL INFORMATION
-------------------------------
Your pull down menus are simply APPLICATIONS, PAGE, EDIT, and OPTIONS.
Applications are defined and located by you. Pages are added by you as
required. The EDIT and OPTIONS menus are detailed below:

You can ADD, EDIT, and DELETE applications or pages. When you ADD an
application you will be prompted to locate the program once. When you
EDIT an application, you will be asked if you want to locate it again.
Arranging Applications simply allows you to sort the order in which they
appear on the menus.
NOTE: When editing or adding applications to the menu, you can cause a
menu SOLID LINE to appear at any line by entering a - OR A /.
OPTIONAL System Security:
Application Security - Each application can be passworded. You will be
prompted to point to an application and assign it a password.
Page Security - Each page can be passworded. You will be prompted to
point to a page and assign it a password.
DOS Security - Access to DOS can be passworded. You will be prompted to
assign a password to the Esc to DOS feature.
System Security - Initially there is no System Password. All passworded
areas are accessible. To secure ALL areas, you need to establish System
Password. You will then be required to enter the System Password in
order to be able to change any of the passworded levels in oMENU. Once
you have attained System Security Access, you can get into any area. To
turn this access off, return to System Security and press enter.
Write your System Security Password down! DO NOT LOOSE THIS PASSWORD.
FILE LOCATION SERVICE: Part of the power of oMENU is due to it's File
Location Service. When you ADD or EDIT your menu item listing, you will
then be required to point out the related file using the File Location
Service. You will the option to enter a command line for your selection
(this is an additional parameter to the executable program name required
for some applications). Most applications do not require this. You
will also have the option to PAUSE after execution. This is sometimes
handy when accessing utility type applications that normally do things
from dos, where you would like to read the displays before returning to
oMENU.
When in File Location Service, just use the arrow keys to locate a
program and press enter to select it. You will only be presented with
*.EXE, *.BAT, and *.COM files. If your choice is a batch file, you will
be prompted to release control of the operation to the batch file
(thereby causing the batch file chosen to take over from oMENU when it
is selected later as a menu choice), or to return to oMENU after
execution. Usually the choice to RETURN to oMENU is used.
